Often going against the tide, in this significant artwork in terms of size and concept, Qiuchi aims to commemorate the death of thousands of Chinese workers during the construction of hospitality and sports facilities for the 2008 Olympics in China, due to the inhumane work pace imposed by the authorities. With the hope that the dove will restore harmony and justice to the entire Chinese people, he represents the Great Wall of China as a symbol of unity.
Oil on canvas, 150 x 180 cm, 2008
